This display appears regularly before Christmas to the citizens permanently to remind and motivate the same time, to make bicycle donations in Cloppenburg, Saterland and the municipality Emstek before Christmas.

We do that collection again before Christmas to mobilise as many refugees as possible as quickly. Our common bicycle-raising acts on the one hand against a "cabin fever" in the initial reception and to the other it is the fastest and most pragmatic solution.
The Deutsches Rote Kreuz and many volunteers do a great job in our region Oldenburger Münsterland. But even the best workers can do nothing in an accommodation of up to 300 new arrivals against a lack of privacy and mobility.
Social contacts with citizens are much more difficult than in the big cities and metropolitan areas with a functioning public transport in rural areas. This special issue in the country is certainly not about a lasting change in the near future, insofar as pragmatic solutions "to each refugee a bicycle" are now required. The positive welcoming culture in Clopenburg intended to put through further concrete on-site actions a "signal" to visualise the integration of refugees as a great opportunity.
